Cook Out hires restaurant by restaurant. You can apply online with the short form on any job posting at cookout.com, with no account needed, or in person by asking for the Manager on Duty. This guide walks through both routes and what the official postings say about pay and benefits. Cookout Menus is an independent guide and is not affiliated with Cook Out, so submit your application only on cookout.com or at a restaurant.
How to Apply for a Cookout Job Online
Cook Out now runs its own job search on its website. Each opening has its own page with a built-in application form.
- Go to cookout.com/employment.
- In the Search Jobs box, enter your city or address as the location.
- Pick a search radius: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 (the default), 30, 40 or 50 miles, then click Search Jobs. You can also click View All to browse every opening, and role filters appear with the results.
- Open a posting. Each job has its own page that shows the position and the restaurant's city.
- Fill in the application form on that page: first name, last name, email address and phone number are required, and a resume is optional.
- Click Submit Application. You do not need to create an account or log in.
The resume upload accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF and TXT files up to 10 MB. There are no availability grids or questionnaires on the form.
Applying in Person
Cook Out's crew postings tell applicants to go to the nearest restaurant and ask for the Manager on Duty. The employment page also says each restaurant's General Manager handles hiring for that location, so you can find a specific store with the Cook Out restaurant locator and contact its General Manager. A paper application is available at the restaurants. Cook Out's employment page no longer offers a form to download, so ask the manager for one instead of printing an old copy. The older paper form asked for availability by day, employment history and an emergency contact, and it stated that applicants must be at least 16.
- Go to the restaurant and ask for the Manager on Duty.
- Say which role you want and when you are available.
- Complete the application the restaurant gives you.
- Hand it to the manager yourself and ask how that restaurant follows up.
Applying Through Indeed
Cook Out's company page on Indeed lists many of the same openings. You can browse it for free, but applying through Indeed needs an Indeed account. The application on cookout.com is the official route, so use Indeed only if you already prefer it.
What Happens After You Apply
Hiring is handled at the restaurant. The General Manager or Manager on Duty reviews applications for that store, and there is no central portal where you can track one. Cook Out does not publish a timeline, an interview format or a follow-up process, so if you have not heard back, the most reliable move is to visit or call the restaurant you applied to.
Jobs Cook Out Lists
Cook Out's own system groups openings into a short list of roles. Restaurant leadership makes up most of the listings, along with crew positions and maintenance.

Cook Out Pay and Benefits
Cook Out publishes pay for its management roles but not for crew roles. The figures below come from postings we checked on October 15, 2026. They vary by posting, so read the one you are applying to.

Because Cook Out does not publish crew pay, any hourly figure you see elsewhere is an estimate. Ask the hiring manager what that restaurant pays.

What Cook Out Asks For
- Managers: at least one year of management experience, with restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Crew: postings do not state an experience level and describe wanting people who are energetic and reliable.
- Age: Cook Out's job postings do not state a minimum age. The paper application says applicants must be at least 16, and 16 and 17 year old students who will work past 11 PM need permission from their school or parents.
- Work eligibility: the paper application says a new hire completes an I-9 form to confirm the right to work in the United States, and that an offer depends on a criminal record check you provide.
